Zak McKraken Fanfic Gets Mindbent II

Zak McKraken Fanfic Gets Mindbent
Time to start living
up to the site title. By an odd coincedence, I was preparing to e-mail Chris Ratcliff
about posting his Zak McKracken novelization on Mindbent, when I received an e-mail
from him asking if he could host some of the Full Throttle fanfiction from the
Kickstand on his site. Needless to say, we hit it off right away. His site, Lucasarts
Fiction, hosts a good amount of LucasArts fanfiction, mostly about Monkey Island, but he is looking to branch out across the LucasUniverse. One thing that I liked about his site the moment I found it was that it hosted MSTings, which is where Mystery Science Theater 3000 fans have the Joel or Mike and the robots tear apart fan fiction. With his permission to do both the MSTing of his fan fiction novelization of the game and to host the original, Mindbent has gained its two first peices of fan fiction in one stroke. Part 1 of the MSTing is already up - the original and the rest of the MSTing will be up soon. Enjoy!

Super-Helpful StolenMilkCrate Supplies Site Squirrel
Mindbent, thanks to
Jen, now has a new mascot named "twonutsarebetterthanone". I was impressed
with the little squirrel drawings she had done on an envelope/letter she sent,
so I had asked her to draw the little fella. There was some initial problems...
She had never played Zak and didn't know what the squirrel looked like (if it
had extra arms/legs/tails/etc). I told her "It's a standard squirrel...but
with an extra noggin. The rest, as you can see on the page heading above, is history.
The 2-headed sqirrel at the very top right of the page is, of course, from the
box art.

Digging through
old webpage ideas, intrepid explorer Ben_Whatsisname unearthed an old beta copy
of the short-lived Zak McKracken fansite "The National Inquisitor".
Once the code saw the light of day, and had the dust brushed off, Ben_Whatsisname
saw promise and value in it and decided to revive the project using new graphics
and the PHP code that powered The Kickstand
