How reliable was Joe Simon?
Patrick Ford shared a post.

This fellow has written a biography of Stan Lee. I'm sure it will be as objective as a Trump biography written by Kellyanne Conway.

My dream would be to see @TheRealStanLee star in a @BuffaloTrace #commercial during the #SuperBowl! (Well, or me...ha,ha) #bourbon #TheMan
Patrick Ford: He's a historian.

Patrick Ford: Based on what I have seen Bob Batchelor seems completely clueless. He's actually attributing to Kirby things Joe Simon has said or written about Kirby.
Patrick Ford: Most comics fans have failed to notice that what they believe to be the history of Simon and Kirby at Timely is just about all things which Joe Simon said in interviews or stuff from the book THE COMIC BOOK MAKERS (supposedly written by Simon). A look at interviews with Kirby tells a very different tale.
Patrick Ford: There is zero documentation for just about everything Simon claims concerning Timely. And there aren't other people (Lee, Kirby, etc.) who support Simon's claims.
Patrick Ford: One thing which is factually known is both Jim Amash and David Schwartz (a Kirby estate trustee) posted on the Yahoo Kirby-List that Roz Kirby told them she would not allow Kirby to see the Simon book because it would have upset Kirby. Roz Kirby viewed it as a pack of lies.
