Patrick Ford: Based on the note Stan Lee wrote on the bottom right it would appear that Jack Kirby told Lee the story was set in Muspelheim.
For some reason Lee decided against using the word.

Michael Hill: Joan Lee told Stanley to "write" stories that he himself would enjoy reading, and he didn't understand the word Muspelheim.
Steven Brower: I watched an interview where Lee couldn't recall that Thor's hammer was Mjolnir, nor could he pronounce it when he was told. Also, for what it is worth, Roussos worked at Marvel in 1985 as a colorist.
Michael Hill: You'd think the legal team would remember to work that into rehearsals.
Patrick Ford: Yeah, it's as obvious as can be that Lee would never have been familiar with Muspelheim and it would have been Kirby who told him.
