Fans are erratic (Roy Thomas's taste) Patrick Ford 10 October 2016 Here's an excellent example of the myopic views of Roy Thomas. Thomas rightly criticizes Harlan Ellison's harsh dismissal of Don Heck's artwork, but in doing so Thomas levels an even more severe criticism at Richard Corben. It's always apparent that Thomas has a grossly overinflated view of his own worth as well as the stature of DC and Marvel comics. On top of that what Thomas lacks in taste and discernment he falls short of when it comes to tact and discretion. Paul Spence: His comments on Corben seem off base. I love Corben and I think poor Don Heck is underrated and underappreciated, Patrick Ford: How does a defense of Heck end up trashing Richard Corben? Thomas is also forgetting the fact that John Buscema said that it was Stan Lee's constant harassment which hurt Heck and damaged Heck's career.
