Hi! We’re James and Mariya, two young professionals with a passion for travelling. Mariya was born and raised in Bulgarian capital, Sofia. Quite the opposite of the remote village of Reay in the North of Scotland where James was raised.
We met in Glasgow in 2013 while studying at the University of Strathclyde. James had just returned from a year on Erasmus exchange to Lyon, France and was keen to get more involved in Strathclyde’s clubs and societies. Our first encounter came while queuing to sign up for a trip with the Mountaineering Club and we quickly bonded over our fondness for travelling and exploring the great outdoors.
The following semester, Mariya would also complete an Erasmus exchange to Oslo, Norway. Naturally James went to visit her there and this was where the shared passion for travelling really began…
Currently based out of Derby, UK, we’ve set up this blog to document our travels, starting with a 100 day trip to South East Asia! Unfortunately, this trip coincided with the Covid-19 pandemic and had to be cut short. Despite this curtailment, we will look back on the time we had as 8 of the best weeks of our lives.
We fully intend to continue using the blog for future travels. To satiate our wanderlust in this period of global lockdown we may share some of our past adventures with you as well.
