This is easier than we expected, with many ledges and no difficulty with ropes.

After a full day of lowering ourselves the shaft changes from vertical into a gentle slope. I hoped we would see some evidence that Saknussemm came this way, but there is nothing. Of course, that was hundreds of years ago and we didn't examine every rock!
